We use personal information to operate KennMichAus, create and manage accounts, publish user-requested content, enable communication between users, provide search and marketplace functions, send transactional notifications, maintain security, prevent abuse, moderate content, respond to requests and comply with applicable legal obligations.

We may also use information to maintain, troubleshoot and improve the reliability and usability of the platform.

5. Registration and User Accounts

Certain KennMichAus features require an account. When you register, we process information such as your name, email address, password hash, registration time, email-verification status, selected account type and necessary security information.

Passwords are not stored in plain text. They are stored using a password-hashing process.

6. Email Verification and Password Reset

We use time-limited security tokens for email verification and password-reset functions. These tokens are technically protected and are not stored as plain-text passwords.

7. Login Security

To protect accounts from automated or abusive login attempts, we process security information associated with login activity. This may include a hashed identifier derived from an email address and IP address, the number of failed attempts and temporary login restrictions.

8. Public Profiles

Users may voluntarily create a public profile. Depending on the information provided, the following information may be publicly visible:

• name or display name
• profile and cover images
• city, location or service area
• profile headline and description
• experience, knowledge and skills
• languages
• online or in-person availability
• reviews
• gallery images
• certain follower or following counts, where provided by the platform

Private email addresses, passwords and account information not designated for publication are not displayed publicly as part of the profile.

9. Offers and Listings

Users can publish offers and listings. Information displayed publicly may include the title, description, category, location, service radius, delivery method, price information and images.

Listings are generally scheduled for automatic deletion no later than eight weeks after creation. Editing a listing does not extend that period. Information may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution or the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.

10. Requests for Help

Users can publish requests for help. Public information may include the title, description, category, location, preferred type of assistance, budget, requested date and images.

Requests are generally scheduled for automatic deletion no later than eight weeks after creation, subject to legitimate security, legal, dispute-resolution and recordkeeping needs.

11. Messages and Communications

Registered users can communicate through KennMichAus. We process the sender, recipient, timestamp, message content and, where applicable, the related listing or request.

Messages are generally visible only to the participating users. KennMichAus personnel may access message information when technically necessary, when a user submits a report, when suspected abuse or unlawful activity must be investigated, or when access is otherwise required or permitted by law.

12. Notifications

KennMichAus may provide account notifications about activity such as new messages, followers, reviews, or the approval or rejection of listings and requests. We may process the notification type, content, users involved, related content, timestamp and read status.

Read internal notifications are generally removed 90 days after they are read. Unread notifications are not automatically deleted solely because that period has passed.

We may also send transactional email notifications. Where notification settings are available, users can manage certain email notifications. Security, account or service-related communications may still be sent when necessary.

13. Reviews

Where available, users may review other users. We may process the review text, rating, timestamp, reviewer and the account being reviewed. The platform may require a prior KennMichAus conversation between the accounts before a review can be submitted. This does not establish that a transaction was completed.

Reviews may be moderated before publication or after a report.

14. Reports and Moderation

Users may report profiles, listings, requests, messages or reviews. We process information submitted by the reporting user, the reported content, the reason for the report and information necessary to review and resolve the matter.

15. Favorites, Following and Blocking

Signed-in users may save listings as favorites, follow other users or block users. We process the relationships between the relevant accounts to provide these functions. Blocking may end existing follow relationships and restrict direct contact.

16. Images and Uploads

Profile images, cover images, gallery images and images attached to listings or requests are stored and processed according to the feature for which they were uploaded.

Uploaded image files may be resized, compressed, optimized or converted to another image format. Existing metadata may be removed during processing.

17. Cookies and Sessions

KennMichAus currently uses cookies and similar browser storage that are necessary to provide functions such as login sessions, account access, security protections and form-related safeguards.

According to the current platform configuration described here, these necessary cookies are not used for behavioral advertising or cross-site tracking. If advertising, analytics or other technologies that require additional disclosure or user choice are introduced, this Privacy Policy and the relevant consent or opt-out mechanisms will be updated as appropriate.

18. Data Security

We use administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information. Current measures include:

• encrypted HTTPS connections
• password hashing
• CSRF protection
• prepared statements for database access
• protected session cookies
• session-ID regeneration after successful login
• temporary restrictions after repeated failed login attempts
• access restrictions for internal and administrative areas

No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

19. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the platform, maintaining security, resolving disputes and meeting applicable legal obligations.

• report and moderation information: as reasonably necessary for review, abuse prevention, dispute resolution or legal enforcement

20. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information when necessary to operate the platform, to service providers that support our operations, when a user chooses to make information public, to protect users or the platform, in connection with legal claims, or when disclosure is required by applicable law.

Our service providers may include hosting and email providers such as IONOS. Public profiles, listings, requests and reviews are available to website visitors according to the relevant feature.

21. Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

Based on the current platform configuration described in this policy, KennMichAus does not sell personal information for money and does not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If our practices change, we will update this policy and provide any notices, opt-out mechanisms or other choices required by applicable law.

22. International Data Processing

KennMichAus.com serves users in the United States but is operated by Thomas Wiele GmbH in Germany. Personal information submitted through the U.S. platform may therefore be processed or stored in Germany or other locations used by our service providers.

Privacy and data-protection laws in those locations may differ from the laws in your U.S. state.

23. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence and whether the applicable privacy law applies to KennMichAus, you may have rights regarding your personal information. Based on the current practices described above, KennMichAus does not sell personal information for money or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will provide any legally required opt-out method.
